Leather skirt

Ever since I saw this shoot this summer, I couldn't wait to find my perfect leather skirt. Finally the right one (and affordable) made it's way to me in Zara. Today I am pairing it down with a simple black jumper and heels, but I'll also be wearing it with baggy knits, flats and denim.

Follow me on twitter today- I'll be taking pics of my favorite Spring Summer items from the Notting Hill press days WITblog.

Julie Adams does my WIT

My dear friend and talented photographer Julie Adams, offered to take my photo for WIT and I was absolutely thrilled at the prospect. I've always been a huge fan of Julie's photography which is is evocative, romantic but somewhat also full of strength and emotions.  On top of being a fantastic fashion photographer, Ive been lucky enough to go on holidays with her where her "snaps" here and there are always frame worthy. We share a big love for Italy where  I am from and where she lived, worked and got married. During her time there she traveled around and took amazing portraits of Italian women, that she then turned into a moving exhibition back in Sydney where she is based. I adore the portrait that she took of me yesterday... and I love it how she always captures my "naughty" side!
Thank you Julie xx

For my portrait I decided to wear a classic WIT outfit of stripes and cargo pants with a touch of bling and my grandmother's 40's fur cape.

Winter LBD's

The perfect LBD should work both with a belted cardigan in the day or  onit's own at night. It looks great both with flats and high heels, looks stunning accessorised with  a statement necklace, belt or shoes. It's that versatile little number that you can throw on any given day and always makes you feel well dressed. My favorite LBD is this Burberry sample sale find and today I am styling it with leopard print accessories.

Tricky one: harem trousers

Harem musts:
1- Always wear with high heels
2- If you are over 25, try pairing with a smart blazer
3- Opt for soft fabrics like cashmere, wool and jersey in darker colours- they drape better and are more slimming
4- For the day, keep them cool with a sweater and ankle boots
5- For the night, dress up with a high heeled courts and a fitted top

Not for everyone, but so comfy!

Going long

Yesterday, between one show room appointment and another, I walked by Zara and saw a wool maxi dress which reminded me that I had a very similar one from last year. Mine  is floor length, has pockets and looks great paired with lace up ankle shoe boot. Add in the comfort factor and I may invest in a few more..

Cashmere- a winter essential

Ever since discovering cashmere, I haven't been able to go back to regular wool. Call me princess, but the softness and luxe effect of a cashmere jumper is simply too much to leave behind. The high street has some great cashmere wools at fair prices, Marks and Spencers, Gap and Zara all have great ranges. But I get most of my cashmere from Uniqlo, in the winter their polo and round necks are virtually all I wear. I've built a basic range of navy, black, grey and black and then seasonally I buy something to add a pop of colour: this winter it was red and beige. Add a  statement necklace and it's done!

Camel rhapsody

The Chloe and Stella McCartney shows were amongst of my favorite from A/W. The perfect mix of luxe fabrics, relaxed shapes and "work-friendly" looks. Today I am mixing soft shades of camel and beige to get the look, with an amazing high street buy: the Next rib long cardigan.
